Delete your account

This is an English translation for convenience. The German version is binding.

You can delete your Snackofatz account yourself in the app at any time. Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.

In the app

1. Open the Profile tab and tap the gear icon at the top right (Settings).
2. Scroll to the very bottom and, below Log out, tap Delete my account.
3. Enter your password to confirm and tap Delete forever.

Tip: further up, in the Privacy & data section, is Export my data. Use it first to download a ZIP file with all your entries and photos.

By email

If you no longer have the app or can't sign in, write from your account's email address to hi@snackofatz.app and include your username. I delete the account within 14 days and confirm it by email.

What is deleted

• Your account: username, email address, password, profile picture, settings.
• All diary entries with photos, ratings, tags, notes and places.
• Your reactions to friends' entries.
• Your comments – under your own entries and under other people's.
• Your homemade snacks with recipes – and all entries for them, including those of your friends with their photos.
• Friendships, open requests, invite links, QR codes, blocks and reports you have submitted.
• Sign-in sessions and your device's push registration.

What remains

• Bought snacks that you were the first to add to the database remain without any connection to you, so that other people's diaries are not broken. The reference to your account is removed; the snack's average is recalculated without your ratings. Homemade snacks do not remain (see above).
• If an entry, a comment or a homemade snack of yours was reported, a copy of it stays stored with the report – even if you delete your account beforehand – until the report is handled; after that the report and the copy are deleted six months after receipt at the latest. I delete the email about the report, with thumbnails of reported photos, from my mailbox once the report is handled, six months after receipt at the latest.
• If I closed your account for breaking the terms of use, a hash of your email address stays on the ban list for two years, so that you can't sign up again with it. If you delete your account yourself, your address does not go on the list.
• Server logs are deleted after 14 days at the latest, database backups are overwritten after 30 days at the latest.
